Some firms are known for theirsignature styles. We’re known for something else—creating spaces as unique as our clients, down to the last detail.
Beth Kostman is the ace up our sleeve . A licensed architect and an interior designer, she leads our Interiors division with equal parts expertise and intuition.
When we talk about interiors, we’re really talking about two things:
Beauty means something different to everyone, so our process is intentionally custom—and, according to past clients, “both effective and endlessly fun.”
Beth begins by visiting client’s home. She’ll ask what they love about it, what they don’t, and how it makes them feel—compared to how they want to feel in their new space. Even little details, like whether they kick off their shoes at the door or where they toss their car keys, shape her design approach.
Then, she’ll spend a couple of days with them—usually in Boston or New York—wandering showrooms. As they sift through stacks of rugs and aisles of armchairs, Beth watches their instinctive reactions.
Back at the studio, Beth and her assistant Abby utilize both digital modeling and an old-school pin-up board to render, refine, and reaffirm with you until looking at their materials palette feels like looking in a mirror.
Here are an example of their approach in action:
The client’s tastes lean towards classic and traditional. He appreciates well-organized, clearly defined spaces and doesn’t like clutter or fussiness. His color preferences tend towards blues and taupes for an overall serene and cool feel. He wants the finishes in his new house to be classic and clean. Would you put down a book before reading the ending? Think of interiors as that final chapter—the one that ties up loose ends and leaves you with lasting meaning. They take a beautiful house and make it feel alive, thoughtfully layered, and unmistakably yours. Interior design is the setting for your experience. It adds depth, personality, and richness through thoughtful selection of the elements you see, touch, and use every day. When interiors are woven into the process from the start, spaces read like a well-written story—distinct chapters told in the same voice, connected and complete. That’s why we’re so glad to offer this service in-house: so your home lets you step off the page and live life as a lead character.
